Imam Chow mein

This company is one of Guyana's leading manufacturers of chow mein noodles. What started as a General Grocery Store now holds its manufacturing facilities on a 2-acre plot of land.
This family business takes pride in the two products it manufactures, chowmein noodles and vermicelli noodles. All noodles are air-dried and the company use minimum machinery in the noodle-making process. Food products and ingredients such as enzymes, gelatin and emulsifiers are not used. Given only two products are manufactured at this plant, there is no contamination with other food products.
Imam Chowmein Noodles have been exported to Canada since 1992 and has taken the market adhering to vegetarians, Hindus and Muslims across Ontario. It is now one of the leading selling chowmein noodle within the West Indian and Middle Eastern Community.

NEW GPC INC is a Limited Liability Company duly incorporated in accordance with the Companies Act of Guyana and is the regional's oldest and largest producer of health care products. All products are manufactured in compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practices recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and their quality assurance is maintained by a highly competent and qualified internal quality control department and two independent external testing laboratories in the Caribbean and North America.
The Company's roots date back to the 1920's with the formation of Bookers Drug Store. Its aim then was to manufacture principal proprietary medicines, which up to that time, had all been imported into the then British Guiana. The company's product line quickly expanded to include products such as Limacol and Ferrol which were immediate successes both locally and internationally. Not only did many of the company's products become instant successes, but they also became household names in Guyana and the Caribbean, a tradition which has been followed for generations.
Namilco
NAMILCO, a subsidiary of Seaboard Corporation based in Kansas, USA, was officially opened on May 17, 1969 by the then Prime Minister of Guyana, His Excellency, Mr. Forbes Burnham.
Seaboard Corporation, our parent Company is a diversified Agri-business and Transportation Company which is primarily engaged in Commodity Merchandising, Flour Milling, Shrimp and Produce Farming, Electric Power Generation, Rice or Sugar Processing and Shipping. The Company oversees Milling Operations in Guyana, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia, Haiti and Africa. Searice Guyana Inc. (Formerly Nidera Co.) is also now managed by Seaboard Corporation.
The Mill was established with a capacity to produce 3,300 one hundred-pounds sacks per twenty-four hour period and 45 workers were hired. As demand increased, more workers were hired and the Mill became the first manufacturing enterprise in Guyana to operate a twenty-four hour work schedule.
